Yesterday was a happy day.
We completed our Module 2 Thai exam and it went amazingly well!
Trust me... when you're learning a language as tough as Thai, its important to celebrate the successes.
So, we figured it was only fair to celebrate another milestone in our language learning journey.
And nothing says "YES! We did it!" quite like a big ol' juicy burger from BK...
Oh yeah...
And then today was another day to celebrate.
We finally got our couch!
After months of sitting on nothing but wood and tile surfaces,
today, our butts are celebrating to say the very least :)
And.......
to finish off an already great week, our wonderful (future) teammates are here for the weekend!
Looking forward to hangin' with the Sanchez family for the next few days and watching their girls rip up the basketball court at Chiang Mai International School.
Have a great weekend everyone. We know we will!

Yay for some greasy American food and a cushy couch!!
Congrats on completing module 2. And sheesh, I want that couch. It looks fantastic and comfy to boot!
Yay! Good for you guys, so happy that you are toughing it through school and can enjoy some family cuddle time on a new couch!
I don't see a couch! Where is the couch? Is my computer eliminating the couch? Or is it a picture you only put on facebook? I'm jealous b/c I don't have facebook! I want to see the couch too! :)
Oh Bonnie - I had to laugh reading your post as it brought back a ton of memories for me. First of all, our country here is FULL of Burger Kings - it's one of those fast food places that back home, we would NEVER go to. But out here, it's become our restaurant of choice. And secondly, we also didn't have couches in our place for the first few months - so we sat on our suitcases or the floor. The day our couches arrived was the most exciting day EVER!!! Can totally relate to you, girl. Great job with your language success!
I haven't tried BK here yet. I did get a McD's burger once a couple months ago. Now I can say I've done it. What is weird is shifting the concept of these places from budget food to expensive food.
Hey--and we're happy for your butts, too. What can I say, we miss the love seat we enjoyed for many years in California. At least our rented furniture is padded! (Though not the most comfortable.)
